Scarabeus Theatre produces original and dynamic site-specific aerial and abseiling productions, stimulating participation and engagement programmes, high quality corporate entertainment and corporate team development workshops.
We are one of the foremost exponents of multi-disciplinary aerial and abseiling performance. We create performances outside conventional spaces using physical theatre, stilts, abseiling, dance and acrobatics.
The company’s skills are successfully used and applauded by both the public, education and corporate sectors in the UK and internationally.
Our aim has always been to reach new audiences who would not usually attend theatre, but also to take the theatre going audience into new spaces.

Gap Project
We are working with Company of Angels and Islington Community Theatre on a Peer Mentoring Scheme to create an original piece of theatre with Year 6 Children at Hargrave Park Primary School with the help of gap year students.
Heartland
We are working with CandoCo Dance Company and Nicky Singer (acclaimed author of Feather Boy) to develop a new artistic partnership between integrated dance, aerial dance theatre and literature. The first stage of this project will be an aerial performance shown at the Liberty Festival in Trafalgar Square on 4th September 2010.
To the Love of Food
We are continuing to develop our new light-hearted aerial show for outdoors festivals ‘To the Love of Food’, exploring the sensual qualities of food, the rituals connected to it and its symbolism in different cultures.
